Proyecto Bienestar is about helping women help themselves. We work, primarily, in Mexico and, also, in the United States. It is important that a woman be self-sufficient in order to support herself, her family, and extended family if necessary. It is also about learning to help others, paying it forward, which will benefit many.
Proyecto Bienestar believes in giving a hand up, not a handout.
Proyecto Bienestar finances women in small business acquisition. With as little as $125.00 to $175.00 US in Mexico, women are actually able to become entrepreneurs in their own right.
Most women need to work from home as they are already caring for children and older family members so a small business in the home affords a woman the opportunity to have both extra income for the family as well as nurture loved ones.
Another benefit is that it also, obviously, takes pressure off the husband if the woman can help provide. If there is a second income in the family, a man might be able to stay in Mexico with his family rather than feeling the need to travel north to the U.S. to work.
